Granada Province is the only remaining area where traditional Tapas is served free. Whenever you order a drink from any of the bars, be it a beer, wine or even coca cola they feel obliged to feed you. Each bar has its own specialities, kebabs, ham and cheese toastie, octopus, fish soup, pork balls in sauce. There are hundreds of different Tapas, each time you order a drink you can sample a different one.

There are over 1000 tapas bars and restaurants in and around Almunecar town. Within walking distance of the house there are some excellent eating places.
Many serve locally caught fresh fish. The beach restaurants offer ‘menu del dia’, a three course meal including wine for around 9 euros. The Chinese Restaurant near to McDonalds has been highly recommended by many of our guests. A fourteen course banquet for six people including drinks costs less than 10 pounds per head.If you get bored with San Miguel, Sangria and Tapas, the Ragged Rock at San Cristobel Beach offers a traditional English breakfast and an excellent mug of tea.A good selection of keg beers are available in a friendly atmosphere and not forgetting the weekly quiz night which is always very popular.

There are several supermarkets situated close to McDonalds in Almunecar Town. Lidl and Supermercado are the largest, these are approximately 3 minutes drive from the house. There is ample free car parking in the area around the supermarkets and the main Taxi rank is situated in front of Supermercado. Fresh fish and vegetables are available from the indoor market. In the summer a number of small supermarkets open up on the beach front.
