Costa Tropical

|
Located on mainland Europe’s southern most boundary and fanned by the warm breezes from North Africa, Costa Tropical’s climate is often compared to that of the Caribbean. In the winter months the coastline is sheltered from the cold northerly winds by the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Costa Tropical with its 25 sun soaked beaches is the coastline of Spain’s Granada province, home to the magnificent Alahambra Palace, this is real Spain. Granada province is the only remaining part of Spain that serves traditional tapas (and it is free). Where else could you ski and snowboard in the mountains in the morning and sunbathe by the coast in the afternoon. |

Almuñécar is the largest coastal town in the Costa Tropical. It is a charming and authentic Spanish fishing town with narrow cobbled streets. Its architecture bears witness to the many centuries spent under Moorish and then Roman occupation. In the summer months Almuñécar and its neighbours Salobrena and La Herradura are lively resorts where the Spanish traditionally take their holidays. With over 1000 restaurants and tapas bars, all serving fresh local produce at very affordable prices and a season that extends from March until the end of October,Almuñécar is an ideal location for the main family holiday or for a spring or autumn break. May and June are particularly special months with the spring fragrances and the long hot cloudless days. |
